Is VOIDHOLD multiplayer or co-op?
VOIDHOLD is single-player. Your squadmates and companions are AI-controlled, so you can play without organising a group. Co-op is not part of the Early Access offering.
Does a run ever end?
In the full game, no: the ten biomes loop in ever harder cycles, and a run ends only when you, the commander, fall. You can SAVE RUN at any planet boundary and continue later. Resumed runs keep their progress but no longer count for the high-score boards.
Can I give my squad orders?
Yes. Hold Q, or the left bumper on a controller, to open the command wheel: FREE ENGAGEMENT, PROTECT ME, HOLD POSITION or FOCUS TARGET. Your troopers and companions still move, aim and fire on their own.
Does it support controllers and Linux?
Yes. VOIDHOLD has native Windows and Linux versions, full controller support, and rebindable keyboard and mouse controls. Supported controllers include Xbox, DualShock and DualSense.
Which languages does VOIDHOLD support?
VOIDHOLD and its free demo are available in twelve languages: English, German, French, Spanish (Spain), Portuguese (Brazil), Polish, Russian, Turkish, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. The game follows your system language by default and starts in English if your system language is not one of them. You can switch languages at any time under OPTIONS.
What PC do I need?
Minimum: 64-bit Windows 10, Ubuntu 22.04 LTS or Fedora 40, a quad-core 2.5 GHz CPU, 8 GB RAM and a Vulkan 1.0 GPU with 2 GB VRAM (GeForce GTX 1050 / Radeon RX 560). Recommended: a six-core 3.0 GHz CPU, 16 GB RAM and a GeForce RTX 3050 / Radeon RX 6600. The game needs 1 GB of available storage.
Do I need to be online, and are there in-game purchases?
VOIDHOLD is single-player and needs no online connection while you play; leaderboard records are submitted when you are connected to Steam. There are no in-game purchases, ads or developer analytics.
When does VOIDHOLD release on Steam?
Steam Early Access is planned for 5 November 2026. The planned launch price is $9.99 USD, with 20% off until 15 November. Wishlist the game for Steam's release notification.
Why Early Access, and for how long?
VOIDHOLD is already fully playable. Early Access is for tuning the endless difficulty curve, the OPERATIONS medal brackets and the synergy economy with players rather than one developer. It is planned to last about three months, and the price will increase when the game leaves Early Access.
What is in the free demo, and does my progress carry over?
The demo covers Ruins, Dusk and Canopy: three campaign worlds and 30 levels with all six weapons, the first two PROGRAMS and the GLASS STORM and JUGGERNAUTS operations. Your progression carries into the full game. Steam achievements and online leaderboards belong to the full game.
Where can I share feedback or report a bug?
Use the VOIDHOLD Steam Discussions. Describe what happened and whether you played the demo or full game. For videos, articles and streams, the press kit includes screenshots, artwork and usage terms.
